What data do we process?

Personal data we process

Tilburg.ai processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you have provided the data to us.

We process the following data:

• First and last name;
• Email address;
• Role within the university;
• Data about your activities on our website, such as chat history and document downloads through the chatbot.

Special and/or sensitive personal data

Our service is not intended for children under the age of 16 unless they have permission from a parent or guardian. However, we cannot verify whether visitors are over the age of 16.

If you believe that we have collected personal data from a minor without the required consent, please contact us at tilly@tilburguniversity.edu. We will then delete the information.

For what purposes do we use your data?

Purposes of processing

We use your data to:

• Allow you to use an account;
• Save, review and continue chats;
• Allow you to access and download your chat history;
• Store your preferences for using the web application;
• Analyse website behaviour in order to improve the website and our services.

Automated decision-making

Tilburg.ai does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that could have significant consequences for individuals. All decisions are reviewed by humans.

Your rights

Accessing, correcting or deleting data

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data.

You may also:

• Withdraw your consent;
• Object to the processing of your data;
• Exercise your right to data portability.

Submitting a request

Requests can be sent to tilly@tilburguniversity.edu.

To verify that the request was submitted by you, we ask you to include a copy of your identity document. Please black out your photograph, the machine-readable zone, passport number and Dutch citizen service number.

We will respond within four weeks.

Retention periods

We do not retain personal data for longer than is strictly necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

After two years of inactivity, all user data are permanently deleted.

We retain logs for a maximum of 90 days. They are deleted after this period.

Tilburg.ai uses functional, analytical and tracking cookies. During your first visit, we informed you about this and requested your consent.

Functional cookies ensure that the website works properly and remember your preferences.
